I love the studio tours, and seeing a photographer set up for and execute a shoot is very valuable. I think it is always great to see how other photographers work… it opens the mind to doing things differently.

Everything you do is excellent. Yet there are so many places to find teaching on digital workflow and software. Having said that I can think of a couple/few… critical things I’ve learned from Ed’s work with respects to this. In particular the tutorial on Color Efex Pro 3.0 where the gal from Nik does the tutorial. I’ve watched that 6x and will again. So those types of things are invaluable. For me I couldn’t get enough of the portrait sessions and wedding outings. In depth discussions on lighting placement, posing, studio management… Great stuff!! COULD YOU PLEASE: Interview folks doing high end work that work out of their house? I hear Sara Petty is among those types? I’d like to hear from folks who are established who choose to work from home as well as those who rent space. YOU GUYS ROCK!!! I can’t tell you what your videos have meant to me and just how much I’ve received from watching them over and over. If you ever need someone to sit a trade show for you in the Atlanta area, or anywhere, let me know. I can sell the product because I believe in it and it’s shaved months and perhaps years off the learning curve. Why any PPA member wouldn’t pay $35 for this escapes me. I consulted with Eddie Tapp this summer and he was surprised at how much knowledge I had acquired in such little time: PhotoVision!

PhotoVision is an outstanding learning resource!!….shows us what other photographers are doing, how they are doing it….love the integration of taking the pictures with showing us the actual picture.

In the short time I have been a PhotoVision subscriber, I have found it to be a great source of creative inspiration and information. I can read about a photographers technique (photographic or how they go about their work) but there is nothing like watching them work. As someone just getting started in “the business”, PV is a great resource and teaching tool. The balance of location work, studio sessions, software talk, marketing talk is really excellent, and you’ve picked a nice group of photographers to follow and work with. And you do a good job of not constantly schlepping for sponsors and dropping unnecessary mentions, which is cheesy and offputting. All around a great video product and well worth the subscription cost. Keep up the nice work folks.

Last year and this year have been terrific, keep it up. Segments by Larry Peters and Brian on lighting and posing of Senior is an invaluable teaching tool– thank you Ed, Brian and Larry for sharing these tips and techniques. Ed your questions for the photographers you interview are well though out and insightful–keep it up. Do more studio walkthroughs. The layouts from reception-to-sales room-to-camera room-to-post production and order packaging is very helpful in planning my own studio layout. One suggestion would be to include room sizes as you discuss the camera room, or gallery or sales room.

I absolutely LOVE seeing the photographers working with clients and the equipment they use. I have absolutely no interest in product reviews, or software overviews because I can find that kind of information anywhere, (but I do like to know the names of things the photographers are using). Tutorials on how to use software are pretty worthless to me as well because I can learn that anywhere. I think Photovision’s strength lies in what only photovision can provide, which is a peek into the workings of a photographer’s business and their interactions with clients. That’s why I feel photovision is the best deal around, and would love to see it become a monthly release.

I have really enjoyed these programs. Big favorites so far have been Parker Pfister/Wedding Photojournalism, Dan Doke/Wedding Parts 1 & 2, M Kiefer/Realizing Your Vision Parts 1 & 2. The principal reason is because they are live action/process with technical commentary by the photographer interspersed with finished images from the shoot. I find these programs to be the most instructive and inspiring. Many thanks for all that you are doing with these programs. I am most appreciative. Larry

I love the informative segments, the shooting and digital workflow are most helpful. I have been in business well over 23 years, am a PPA Master, but can never get enough fresh ideas. Info on Photoshop and programs and tips to get me away from the computer are most welcome. After starting out on film, digital presented, and still does to this day, a new set of challenges sometimes as simple as metering or more complex like printing. It is wonderful to know you will have something fresh to learn when it is impossible to leave the grind of the studio in search of new growth. It is delivered to my door! Like the variety of those featured. There is at least one person on each cd with whom we connect. The lengths seem good too – if you like the segment, it could be longer. If it is not something that speaks to you, you just skip through it.

Watching other photographers in actual events (real weddings, real photo shoots is the best part of photovision. We can’t that from workshops and we seldom get to actually work with other photographers, so that is the most interesting aspect of the videos, being there with other photographers and seeing how they work with situations and clients.

I have little free time, but make time to watch the cd’s. I enjoy seeing other photographers show the techniques and ideas that they felt were successful. This includes their studio layout; posing and photo ideas; equipment they like; and promotional ideas.

I enjoy the variety, and use some segments for employee improvement. Many segments have given me to come up with new ideas for using my building and existing equipment in new ways. What is great is that unlike a conference, you can rerun segments or go back at a later date for refresher – you don’t have to rely on notes and photos!
