Jeff  Dunn LOVES people!  For nearly a decade, Jeff was almost exclusively a wedding photographer but then he began to really enjoy portraiture and started to build a portrait based clientele.  One day about 3 ½ years ago, when his daughter Kira was 4, he realized that once she started school, he’d have only the evenings and weekends with her. Weddings were weekend and evening work.  That very day he called all of the places where he had wedding ads and cancelled them. He has focused on portraiture ever since.

Jeff has a custom built studio attached to his home which does a high end – medium volume. His photography has a strong storytelling overtone – drawing out the personalities and interests of each person he works with.  He brings the journalistic approach he developed with weddings to his portraiture but with a very refined edge.  When asked what he specializes in, he just says “people”. Any given day, you might find him hanging from trees, up to his waist in water or dragging pianos outside for a session.

As for accomplishments, Jeff has been named Minnesota Wedding Photographer of the Year three times, has a number of Loan Collection images, several Kodak Gallery and Fuji Masterpiece awards and was honored with the 2009 Gold Level Photographer of the Year award from PPA.
